How We Killed the Witch (1): A Comedy Adventure for Men
In one year, Silas Wheatfarmer will be killed by The Witch.
There are many things that might drive one to become an Anointed. The desire for fame, the pursuit of wealth, a yearning for adventure. For some, they become Anointed simply because it’d be a waste not to use the natural strength they were born with. For others, they simply wish to pursue knowledge, utilizing the Association’s many connections to uncover secrets that even they haven’t uncovered.
For Silas, being an Anointed symbolized only one thing: freedom. As an Anointed, one was free to do anything: take on a dangerous quest one day, fight in a tournament the next, and risk one’s life scouring a deadly dungeon for treasure the day after.
It was the ideal life for someone like Silas, so when the results of his Magical Aptitude Test came back that he would never be strong enough to become an Anointed, he disregarded it. Silas would die before he gave up on his dream. He was going to become an Anointed no matter what…
…even if he had to sell his soul to The Witch to do it.
